the biggest threat to our freedoms

its not obama. its not romney. its not congress or al qaeda.
its the federal justice system. a system where you can be locked up and despite the justice department knowing your innocent, they do nothing to free you

according to justice department officials
Justice Department officials said it is not their job to notify prisoners that they might be incarcerated for something that they now concede is not a crime. And although they have agreed in court filings that the men are innocent, they said they must still comply with federal laws that put strict limits on when and how people can challenge their convictions in court.

keeping people in prision you know are innocent violates everything this country stands for.

in addition federal policymaker pile charge after charge for the same offense encouraging guilty pleas, which is why 94% of federal cases are pled out.

im sorry but if a justice department official allows knowingly innocent people to spend time in prision for what isnt even a crime they should lose their jobs and themselves be imprisioned.

basically the government can now arrest you and hold you indefinitely threaten you with long sentences by piling on charges if you dont plead guilty, and even if you didnt actually commit a crime keep you in jail. this sounds like something out of the gulag instead of the US

and yet I dont hear any political pundits or commentators on either side complaining about it. Its wrong period. and instead of worrying about romneys tax records or obamas college records or any nonsense used to distract us we should worry about a real loss of our freedoms and basic principles

that this is allowed to occur is disgusting.
