Faux-a-ganda techniques noted watching while working out this AM (revealing and nauseating)

So this morning while doing myself in in the Elliptical, here are the a number of propaganda techniques I noted on Faux in just 45 minutes.

1. While covering the story I posted about yesterday - http://www.democraticunderground.com/125164964

Jonah Goldberg - the "some people said" technique - "Obama voters are switching to Romney in huge numbers. I talked to people on 40-50 flights and couldn't find anyone who said they are switching McCain to Obama.

The "race card" - Jonah notes "it is the Bradley effect. You know, the black mayor of LA. People didn't want to tell me they weren't voting for Obama because they didn't want to be labeled as racist.

The "subliminal technique" - at the bottom of the screen for the next entire 45 min was a little strip for the captions which said "Obama moving toward Romney".

2. Next - a "doctor" (the so-called expert technique) talking about how "doctors aren't going to cover new medicaid patients". We have the "bad math lie" - big banner saying 32% of new medicaid patients won't be covered. Then two smaller, quicker banners - "17% of all new patients won't be covered no matter what the insurance", followed by "15% of new medicaid patients won't be covered". So they just added 17 and 15 and used the "fear technique" through stretching of the truth and leaving out context.

3. Finally we have someone from the CBO saying that it isn't true that the middle class is getting squeezed. Then they show use the "unrelated data" technique and show how much tax that the bottom, middle and top 20% pay by percent - of course those who make a fortune pay a higher percent...that is not the point! Then they throw out the "red herring" - Mark Zuckerberg made all this money on Facebook and it hurt no one in the middle class.

So there you go - not only did I do myself in working out, but I sacrificed my sanity to watch that so I could share it all with you!

gotta go shower.....the sweat off AND the Faux filth!

"Some people"? Really? Why not just say "our producers told us to say"?

Damned low life pieces of garbage.

Amazing they could fit so many propaganda techniques in such a short amt of time. I can just imagine the brainwashing that goes on among its sheepy watchers.
