Going for training tonight and then up bright and early tomorrow morning (well, early for me because I'm retired) to get to the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver. I'm so glad I'll be inside and not standing outside in the heat, although I would if I had to do it. I'll take photos although I'm no photographer. Wish me luck!!!

(32,609 posts)One never forgets the experience of seeing/meeting a President or Presidential candidate.
My first time was in Abilene, KS in 1952 when Ike announced he was running for President. Although to be honest I was more fascinated by the little person dressed as a gunslinger who entertained us until Eisenhower took the stage. That guy was more my size and I had never seen a dwarf before.

(1,369 posts)His motorcade came through my hometown (pop. 500) way back in the early '50's also and we were let out of school to stand around the intersection to wave as he passed by. I only remember it as being fun to get out of class. I'm sure my experience tomorrow will be be quite memorable.

(2,921 posts)We have to go downtown in the morning, and I'll tell him to take the north side to completely avoid Speer. It'll probably be a mess of a traffic....
What time is he supposed to speak @ Auraria tomorrow? If we time it right, we can just miss the traffic...
