(30,947 posts)I think she looks great for her age.

(19,458 posts)The pics you see of famous people, like this, are not reality. She is not aging well. Look around the threads for the candid pics. Looks around 60. Being emaciated doesn't mean she looks good, and she has either gotten breast enhancements or falsies, because according to the candid pics, they are not original equipment.
WorseBeforeBetter
(11,441 posts)But it's a look she has chosen.
The hair is dyed too dark and the streaks are trashy. She's probably spending a small fortune on her facial skin, but the skin everywhere isn't keeping up -- too much time in the tanning bed. It looks as if she's lost weight -- too much. And that get-up is a Glamour "Don't" if ever there was one... tacky!

(26,255 posts)That outfit screams out a need for attention - any attention. Kind of sad, really.

(42,239 posts)like she just dressed down to suit her audience in that particular State.
Maybe she just likes those clothes? I seriously don't think those shoes match that outfit, but then I'm not the one that has to wear them. I personally think the outfit looks stupid, but is it really such a huge issue that it deserves two threads? It's not like she lacks opportunities for criticism without stooping to insulting her fashion sense.

(22,336 posts)And do we do this to male politicians?
Marrah_G
(28,581 posts)It's more of a WTF is she wearing clothes designed for a teenager when she is at a political event thing. If a male politician showed up in the male version of this outfit, I'd be WTFing also.
Siwsan
(26,255 posts)Nothing on her physcial self - she could be 100 lbs or 300 lbs and she would still look as desperate.

(6,199 posts)How many times have you heard:
Romney = used car salesman
Chris Christie = fat
Pres. Obama = handsome hottie wolf whistles (I happily join in on this one)
John Boner = orange, drunk
Mitch McConnell = turtle
etc
We're a media driven society. To a large portion of the country, looks matter more than anything. They shouldn't, but they do.

(8,434 posts)Yes we do in fact do this to male politicians.

(19,458 posts)you damn well bet we'd be talking about it.
It's more about her sudden image change... People talked about Bill Clinton when he lost all the weight.
But this is about a public figure.. a media figure.. who seems to be riding off the rails, as evidenced by her new penchant for dressing like a 15 year old at a Dairy Queen in Lodi.

(33,688 posts)on a 12-year-old girl. On someone Mooselini's age, appearing at a political rally in that get up is beyond absurdity or bad taste.

(18,672 posts)the 14 year old "boys" in the Republican party are fine with this, LOL. I loathe her personality, but as far as style goes, she needs to find a happy medium that falls about mid-way between this tween look and her usual 60-year old lady suits.

(27,630 posts)The shoes and pants together are okay, but it needs a dressier top. There is no age limit for the shoes & pants part of that outfit. Anybody who tries to say a 65 year old shouldn't wear those shoes is just an uptight bore, regardless of how progressive you say you are.
The t-shirt and belt together would be okay (on a 20-to-30 year old), with blue jeans and sneakers. A woman her age can get away with that t-shirt and belt with worn-out blue jeans to the grocery store, maybe. I would never wear that t-shirt.
All you have to do is move the photo within the browser to see that the real problem lies with the top half of the outfit.
Anyway, let's please not forget that fashion policing is EXTREMELY trivial.
