Ok DU peeps. Time out for a natue question.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by DonViejo (a host of the General Discussion forum).

Why would all the birds that used my feeders just disappear? Only one hummingbird has been around.
Until 2 days ago I was seeing sparrows, finches, cardinals, chickadees, wrens, titmouses, doves and prolly more.
Is this an omen?

Do you see these birds elsewhere (just not in your feeders) or do you think they are "missing", i.e., they've moved elsewhere or there has been a "die-off". If the latter, it may be West Nile VIrus, depending on where you are (which has been devastating to many species of "song birds"--or if you have a lot of ferral and outdoor domestic cats, they may be "at work"....

If your area is not suffering drought then perhaps the converse is true. The birds are finding plenty to eat outside your feeders? Maybe add a bird bath.

That is normally what happens when the birds disappear from my yard. It normally lasts a couple of days.
