2. Important post.
If only we paid more attention to history, we wouldn't be in this situation. I've never read It Can't Happen Here, but I'm buying it today. Thanks for the post.

3. I think it should be required reading in HS. I'd read some of Sinclair Lewis' books but didn't
read this until about 2 years ago.

4. I read this at the beginning of the last presidential campaign
I thought it was overblown but then Trump came along.
If I remember correctly, each chapter starts with a quote from the anti-hero's book - sort of an "Art of the Deal". Eerie! Life imitating art. |

However, this title most likely remains copyrighted under United States law, where works copyrighted in 1923 or later can remain under copyright for up to 95 years after publication. It may also be copyrighted in European Union countries and other countries where copyrights can last longer than 50 years past the author's death. ... More at link. |

10. Good point. Thanks. It's addressed at the Gutenberg link but not...
at Goodreads.
I'm surprised it's not in public domain yet but had forgotten about the change in the law a few years back extending copyrights. I've already ordered a used paper version. I love ebooks but still prefer paper. ![]() |

9. Hadn't heard of it - just bought it! The blurb
alone is enough to pique my interest. Could have been written yesterday!
