[ article ]A Democratic primary candidate for Congress and tea party activist is airing graphic anti-abortion ads against a fellow Democrat in Minnesota, according to KARE 11.
Gary Boisclair is running against incumbent Rep. Keith Ellison (D) in Minnesotas Fifth Congressional District. Boisclair has purchased air time to show three graphic ads targeting Ellison for his support of a womans right to terminate her pregnancy.
I am fighting for the unborn, Boisclair told KARE 11. Only by making people are people going to wake up and do something about it.
The ad accuses Ellison of being willing to kill an unborn baby and describes Planned Parenthood as a criminal syndicate. The ad features numerous pictures of bloody aborted fetuses.
Boisclair was born and raised in Minneapolis, according to his website. But he hasnt lived in the state since 2003. His official residence listed in West Virginia. Boisclair explained to the Star Tribune that he is a Democrat because, Democrats know how to fight for the little guy, and Im fighting for the littlest guy. [ / article ]

(146,288 posts)Anyone can file for an election in MN. This moron filed as a Democrat, which is legal. As a declared candidate the media is forced to carry his ads, under federal law. Something needs to be changed, I think. I saw the ad. This has nothing to do with that legislative seat. It has to do with getting that anti-abortion ad on the air, which they couldn't do in any other way.
It sucks!

(8,994 posts)File as a Democrat and hit the airwaves with ads that talk about REAL issues, like worker's rights and the like.
Edit: no, wait, file as a Republican. Make life hard on the GOPers, lol.

(24,926 posts)He's running as a DFLer because he doesn't want to hurt the Gooper nominee and by running he can air his ads without censorship.
"Boisclair is a member of the Society for Truth and Justice, an anti-abortion group that is running primary challenges around the country with the sole intention of airing graphic ads. The group is taking advantage of Federal Communication Commission (FCC) loophole that prevents campaign ads from being censored. FCC-licensed TV stations can reject ads based on graphic content, but they are required by law to run the ads of federal candidates within the 45-day window of any primary. "
He's tied to Randall Terry and this is a national campaign.

(146,288 posts)They were apologizing for the ads, and explained that they had no choice about running them, according to the law. The candidate is a fake candidate, does not even live in the state, and is running only for the purpose of running those ads.
It's obscene.
