Randy Travis left a Texas jail this morning in a brand new suit ... a paper suit ... after cops found the country singer NAKED at the scene of a DWI car wreck.
TMZ broke the story ... officials say Travis had no clothes on when they arrived to the scene of his car accident late last night. They also say Travis was drunk off his ass ... and arrested him for DWI.
After transporting a naked Travis to a nearby jail, officials forced Travis to put on the paper suit ... which he was allowed to wear home.
It's possible Travis wasn't entirely naked during the arrest -- since he was wearing a U of Texas hat on the way out of jail, it's possible he was also sporting the headwear at the crash scene.

(27,787 posts)we were in this bar called Harpoon Hannas. We'd played golf until about 3pm (each year the guys I grew up with do a golf weekend), and then we went to that bar and ordered drinks and the appetizers (all of them ... one of my friends pointed at the list of appetizers and said "we'll have one of each of these" . That's how things started.
Around 11pm or so, my buddy Chris went from being a little drunk, to plastered. It was like some one had flipped a switch in his head. So for the next hour or so, he was hilarious. Dancing with every woman who came by our table. He might have danced with a guy or two along the way. He also had a serious discussion with a woman who was equally drunk ... we couldn't make out a single word either of them said. They had apparently invented a new language known only to them.
Anyway ... our table was very close to the guy who was playing the guitar and singing various beach bar tunes. He was pretty good, and because he was close to us, people would walk up and wait by our table to make requests. Earlier in the day, a little girl and her parents came up and asked him to sing "Sweet Caroline" ... but they asked if the little girl (maybe 5 or 6) could do the singing ... so he let her ... and my friends cheered her on ... she was great, when she was done, she came over and high fived us all (and I still need to go try to see if her parents posted it on youtube).
But I digress. So because we were close to the singer, if people wanted to dance, or to make request, they ended up basically standing and talking with us. And my friends are very extroverted. So between 3pm, and 11 or so, we got to know everybody. Every bar maid, and almost every person on the outside deck of Harpoon Hannas.
The result of that was we each ended up talking to different people at the bar. It might be me and one of my friends and 4 people over here, 2 of my other friends and 4 people over there, and so on.
So at about midnight, my brother in law comes over and says "Hey, get a drink, we're going over to the last boat over there". The bar is on the bay, and it has a dock, and people park their boats there. So, I get a drink, and start telling the other guys to do the same.
Now, we're on the boat at the dock ... the 8 of us guys and 2 other guys and about 6 other women. Most of which we'd talked to at the bar. We're all talking, we make a run or two back to the bar (20 feet away) and get additional rounds.
Next thing I know, one of the guys that we don't really know unhooks the boat, cranks up the engine, and off we go. The boat was one of those rectangular pontoon boats. The front was square, with seats along the sides, the back had the steering wheel and a canopy, and seats that went around the back in a U shape.
So a few minutes later, we're out on the bay. Its dark, but there is a near full moon (this was back in June). So I'm sitting there enjoying the sky, and so is everyone else. Other than the boat motor, its quiet. And a buddy of mine, Steve is sitting next to me. And all of a sudden he turns to me and says ... "How the Fuck did we get on a boat?" To which I replied ... "no idea" ... and then he said "well, where are we going?" ... again I said "no idea".
So then I said "Hey Joe, where we going?" (my brother in law's name is also Joe, very confusing at times) ... and he says ... "We're going to Secret's" ... Secret's is another beach bar in Ocean City MD.
Oh ... almost forgot ... its around this point that Chris starts to take off his clothing. Chris is very athletic. And one of the women (divorced woman hitting on Chris) had commented on how "fit he was" ... so after telling her about his work out routine, she said something like "you must have a washboard stomach" ... and so he removed his shirt ... and then, for some reason, also dropped his shorts so that he was wearing nothing but boxers, and then he started to "pose" ... which was funny given that the boat was rocking some, and he could barely stand.
At one point I actually caught him before he fell overboard. He then declared that I have saved his life because he can't really swim. Then I explained that the part of the bay we were in was about 4 feet deep. Regardless, if he and his wife have any more kids (which they can't) he's naming one after me.
As for who owned the boat ... I "think" that one of the 2 guys on the boat worked for the people who owned that boat, and a few other boats. Those people rent the boats, but this boat was one they just bought, and the guy was taking it out to "test" how it handled before they rented it to other people.
We stayed at Secret's for a while (you don't pay a cover if you arrive by boat, who knew), and then made a return trip to Harpoon Hannas, where we stayed until it closed.
The next day, when we told Chris that we took a boat ride to Secret's, Chris said "We went on a boat to Secret's???"

(27,787 posts)The description of it starts with this ... "Ever wonder how to retrieve a sunken golf cart from a snake-infested lake?"
One year, we almost had a golf cart along with one of my friends, end up in a lake. Fortunately the tree stopped them.
We've been doing the trip for about 15 years, and I've considered writing a series of short stories, or maybe trying to do it as a screen play which jumps from one year to the next, skipping all the stuff in between.

(95,337 posts)Even still I managed to put my shoes on and I was wearing my jammies. Oh and I was smart enough to walk although it was around 4am in the morning in downtown Wilmington DE. Oh and I walked to a hospital because I guess I fell down the steps in my house while sleepwalking on Ambien.
Other than that I usually managed to keep my clothes on - I'm smart like that.

(95,337 posts)This happened the day after the 2008 elections. I always had problems falling asleep at night and my doctor sugggested Ambien. I had taken it before with no issue (at least none that I'm aware of).
What's funny was that I was in some serious pain but they wouldn't give me painkillers because they figured I was some crazy druggie looking to get high. I mean I looked a mess, it was weird that I would walk to the hospital at 4 in the morning and I was dazed for about an hour or so.

Rev. Peter Petroske, Mich. priest, allegedly drove drunk, and naked
(CBS/AP) DEARBORN, Mich. - Michigan priest Rev. Peter Petroske is suspended from his duties after being accused of driving drunk, and naked, through the city of Dearborn.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit told CBS Detroit that Petroske, 57, was charged with driving under the influence and indecent exposure. According to the archdiocese, when he was arrested late Thursday, he was alone in the vehicle and reportedly not wearing any clothes.
He is scheduled to be arraigned for the charges on August 14, according to the Detroit News.
Church officials say they placed Petroske, of Sacred Heart Parish, on administrative leave Monday. He must stay off church grounds during the suspension, according to church spokesman Joe Kohn.

(23,278 posts)After winning the Iowa Straw Poll, Stephen Colbert has confidence that Michele Bachmann may just have the winning formula to become the next President of the United States of America. On 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), he said he was impressed that she reportedly handed out 6,000 voting tickets and got 4,823 votes.
"Bachmann got a commanding 80% of the votes she paid for," he said.
Furthermore, her combination of air conditioning, chairs, Randy Travis and a petting zoo in her tent proved to be a winning combination to the Iowans who came by, as was the food.
"I say this proves she could win the general election," Colbert said. "Assuming she can get 50 million voters into a field, pack them with barbecue, and let their children pet Randy Travis."
