A question about Olympic spoilage (no spoilers included)

Why does my NBC local affiliate keep reporting the results from the events that they are going to show later on in prime time?

The first few days of the Olympics they would warn people who were going to watch to turn away, but now they dont even warn you. They are also crawling the results throughout their newscasts on the bottom of the screen?

Why are they spoiling their own coverage, do they not want the viewers? In order to watch the prime time events you need to avoid watching the news.

Who are they reporting the results for ahead of time? If someone doesnt care to watch in prime time, odds are they dont really care who won what anywho and it wouldnt matter if they reported them as it happened or a day later.

Thanks to them, I now know who won a match that I was looking forward to watching...Morons

Too much Bob Costas, too many happy clappy interviews, too much cute prepubescent gymnasts, not enough track & field.

On the west coast you have to stay up until midnight if you want to see WTF is going on.

And I kind of like watching the beach volleyball women jumping around in their bikinis, but enough is enough.

I hope somebody other than NBC gets the rights to the 201g games.
