FDPD releases lip sync video Friday as part of nationwide challenge.
The Fort Dodge Police Departments version of the lip sync challenge was released on video Friday.
In it, police officers lip sync the song Somebody to Love by Queen.
Cory Husske, Fort Dodge assistant police chief, said these types of lip sync videos involving law enforcement are sweeping the nation and serve as a way to humanize police officers.
When Chief (Roger) Porter took over, we made a personal mission to humanize the badge, Husske said. Thats important to us. Be human beings first, and our job is law enforcement. Along with that, we call ourselves law enforcement, to protect and serve. We have tried to reverse those terms serve and protect.

I have no issues with things like this. More community outreach is a good thing. Without drastic changes, this is not community outreach, it is a part of their continued propoganda.

So far, I've watched about 10 of these including three local departments but enjoyed this one the most. Queen rules.

(31,261 posts)Know who the bad cops are well before the bad cops really go off the deep end. Good cops do nothing when bad cops are clearly abusing a citizen. Look at the recent situation in Baltimore, a cop was punching a guy out that was not trying to fight back, and the other cop on the scene did nothing but tell the crowd to stay back. How about stopping the other coo from punching the guy?
Bottom line, good cops need to turn in bad cops and good cops need to stand together if their union attempts to protect the job or rank of a bad cop. Only then will all cops see things for them get better and see citizens that are not criminals respecting them and helping them do their jobs.
