Doctor_J
(36,392 posts)Holy shit. You admit this is treason, yet don't think the president and AG can or should do anything about it.
Step right up, fellow Dems. uponit7771's post is exactly why the US has turned into a fascist hellhole.

(53,661 posts)U.S. District Judge Peter C. Economus granted a motion on Monday allowing 15 military groups to intervene in the Obama campaigns early voting lawsuit, which seeks to restore the ability of all Ohio voters to vote in-person during the three day period leading up to election day.
While Ohio has allowed early voting through this period since 2005, the state legislature restricted early voting this year exclusively to members of the military and their families. Mitt Romneys campaign falsely smeared the lawsuit, claiming that Obama is trying to take away voting rights rather than restore them. The Obama campaign supported the military groups request to intervene.

It's really the same case, disenfranchising military along with those in the state. They are going to let this group take the credit or make the case, and I'm guessing they will give them all the help they can to strike down the law. What do you think is going on?

(24,411 posts)I saw Rachel's coverage of these voter suppression tactics in Ohio and I was enraged. Do people understand that in Republican-leaning counties, election commissions have voted to extend voting hours, but in Democratic-leaning counties Republicans have voted against allowing for these expanded voting hours??
This is so blatant! The election commission in each Ohio county is comprised of two Republicans and two Democrats. Dems and reps both agreed to expand voting times in Republican-leaning counties. When it came time to vote for the expanded hours in the Dem-leaning counties, the Republicans voted NO.
This is so outrageous!!! A blatant abuse if power and obvious vote tampering! All voting hours and days should be alike in all counties.
You know damn well that these crimes are premeditated and highly organized. Count on horrible voting crimes to happen in Ohio. Make no mistake about it, these criminals are planning more voter suppression and other dirty tactics in Ohio.
I hope to hell that Ohioans are raising holy hell about this. The Ohio Dems better fight like dogs to draw attention to these crimes and get expanded voting in their counties NOW.
Fight this thuggery and show these evil Republicans that they cannot steal Ohio and a Presidential election!!

Seriously, Obama Team needs to pick out those states where it is the most obvious they are going to bastardize the election and plan a winning strategy without them. I would figure out a win without Ohio, PA, and FL, if that's possible
on edit: he could lose all these - but he would have to get VA, NH, CO, and NC

(95,337 posts)I remember back in 2004 they put more voting machines in rural parts of the state then they did in populous areas like Cleveland or Columbus.
It's just shameful at the levels of wretchedness they'll stoop to in order to make their state GOP even when the polls show it favoring Obama.
