Can we talk Ohio?

A hearing will take place Aug. 15 to deal with the Ohio GOP passing new rules for early voting designed to benefit members of the military. Obama and the Ohio DNC filed the lawsuit Aug. 1.

And yesterday, Ohio set up one early-voting system for Republican counties, and another for Democratic counties.

Will both issues be heard on Aug. 15?

1. Maybe not, unless the 'yesterday' system was included in the 'early voting' rules,

but I fully expect it will be addressed and roundly THROWN OUT in court at some time (BEFORE November.)

Federal Judge Allows Military Groups To Intervene In Voting Rights Lawsuit |

U.S. District Judge Peter C. Economus granted a motion on Monday allowing 15 military groups to intervene in the Obama campaign’s early voting lawsuit, which seeks to restore the ability of all Ohio voters to vote in-person during the three day period leading up to election day.

While Ohio has allowed early voting through this period since 2005, the state legislature restricted early voting this year exclusively to members of the military and their families. Mitt Romney’s campaign falsely smeared the lawsuit, claiming that Obama is trying to take away voting rights rather than restore them. The Obama campaign supported the military groups’ request to intervene.

It's really the same case, disenfranchising military along with those in the state. They are going to let this group take the credit or make the case, and I'm guessing they will give them all the help they can to strike down the law.
