DU, you rock!

I really must write this. I've thought it many times. So here goes....

Although I've vehemently disagreed with many posts on DU over the years, and even stopped reading this site on occasion in my extreme moments of poutrage.....

the level of discourse and writing and THOUGHT here is head and shoulders above anywhere else, AND....

the members here, although unpaid, provide much more humor, information, and insight than the corporate media.

So...thank you. All of you.

I have learned so much from being here and reading the intelligent words of many of the members. It's like a class in poli sci with healthy doses of history, economics and so much else, without the tests!

Having DU allowed me to stay involved politically after I was felled by a quirky disease.

For a span of time in the 70's and then again all through the 80's, I was making a living out by being politically active with the Democratic Party.

When that all crashed down when my health went south, DU was there for me....

4. It is a most interesting place, wish I'd joined up here many years ago.

It's where I get my news, political and otherwise and enjoy the diversity of lives of the members here. It's really expanded my views of Democrats and I've found a bit of resonance of many experiences in my life reflected in the membership here. Many living lives I never imagined and sharing them with all of us.

Only started following politics in 2000, after I got out of the service and saw my 1st stolen election, bounced around the net after Kerry lost, then stumbled over here in 2007. This is my 1st stop every day; I stay logging in, thru out the day checking in and out between works. There is not a better Democratic site, current TV is trying but nothing beats the DU.

19. I've been finding news here and posting to Facebook.

My RW relatives are getting really, really mad at me. Pretty soon they won't be speaking to me at all. My devious plan is right on schedule.

And my normal friends on Facebook are learning things. It's a win-win!!
