The media calls the Obama campaign ads "negative ads"! (Original Post) DainBramaged Aug 2012 OP
Negative ads work. LuvNewcastle Aug 2012 #1
Only negative when used effectively against GOP. If the GOP does it, it's informing voters.nt nc4bo Aug 2012 #2

One of the main reasons why the Democrats wandered in the wilderness for so many years after 1980 was that the GOP successfully demonized Democratic principles. The only reason that Romney even has a ghost of a chance in this election is because the Republicans have done so much to make Obama look like a Muslim Kenyan communist who wants to take away their guns and make their kids gay. All I can say is that I hope the Dems keep it up with the negative ads. Their side has a hell of a lot more faults to expose than ours does.

Could Obama say anything bad about him in his campaign ads without it being considered negative campaigning? My point is "negative campaigning" is simply not a helpful phrase.

I'm learning all kinds of stuff from the O campaign about the wannabe president of the 1%.

I keep hearing how this is such a "dirty" election...as though any charge against Willard is a sliming. A good part of this is the typical right wing "baiting the refs" technique where poutrage pours from Faux Noise and hate radio and a negative attack on Willard is considered a "dirty trick". This "justifies" the rushpublicans to do their own sliming (which they've done against this President for 8 years...since his DNC speech in '04) and say that their lies and slander are justified. The corporate media then runs with it as it fits into their "both sides do it" meme.
