Romney campaign whining about the polls

Romney Camp Pushes Back Against Recent Polling Data

An adviser to Mitt Romney’s campaign is pushing back against recent polling data showing President Obama with as much as a 9 point lead nationally, reports Politico’s Ginger Gibson:

“Guys, it’s the middle of summer, it’s the dolldrums, it’s the middle of the Olympics,” the adviser who spoke on background said. “There has not been any national news, anything that would push these numbers from 3 to 9 points.”

The adviser pointed to no changes in Gallup or Rassmussen tracking numbers as evidence those polls were wrong.

“You’ve got to have something to precipitate that kind of sea change,” the adviser said. “The attitudes toward the economy, attitudes on right direction, wrong track haven’t changed a bit. It hasn’t changed, it is still the same as it was a month ago in terms of attitudes toward the economy.”

Thursday marked a rough polling day for Romney after a Fox News poll found the Republican trailing by 9 points. Both a Reuters/Ipsos and a CNN poll previously showed Romney down by 7 points nationally.

Romney campaign: Pretend that disastrous overseas trip didn't happen and that Mitt isn't getting his ass kicked on Bain, his Romneyhood plan and refusing to release his tax returns.

It's not the "middle of the summer" - that would be, oh, the Fourth of July?

Time's just about up.

then proceeded to anger the entire Arab world by nonsense in Israel. Not to mention saying you won't question foreign policy while overseas does not cancel out actually doing it -- and doing it badly.

Not to mention the other two main stories are what he did when he headed Bain Capital - and the fact that he either lied to the SEC in 1999 or the FEC this year and when he will release his taxes.

When Romney stops whining, perhaps he can explain his Bush retread policy proposals to the American people.

Often, they whine about LW whining, especially when said LWers are right. It's what they do.

always seeing things from "the backside". "My friends" the attack on the "Sheiks" was a terrible tragedy. This is "a holy place, so kiss my ass". If you like "Obamaloney" then you should "live in Massachusetts where you have health care".

Is that you, Eric "Sir-Gaffes-A-Lot" Fehrnstrom? If so, I know of something that would have "pushed" the numbers from 3 to 9 points -- AND YOU CAN FIND IT BY LOOKING IN A MIRROR!

That there is some down ticket movement starting to show up as well. Not a great deal yet but movement in those races lags what happens at the top of the ticket.

Both of those industries have a monetary interest in keeping the race closer than it actually is, and I have no doubt that both have been doing just that for months now.

Wait until Rassmussen cuts the rope on him at the beginning of October. It's gonna look like a ski jump aiming into an abyss.

Edit: Actually, Rassmussen cut the rope on McCain about eight weeks out, as you can see in the data on this page:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2008/2008_presidential_election/general_election_match_up_history

Or in the blue line in the first graph on this page:

http://politicsandprosperity.wordpress.com/2012/07/16/election-2012-a-new-indicator-12th-post/

Conservatives try to blame McCain's drop on the financial crisis of '08, but what I see is a pollster desperately trying to push a car with no brakes over a hill, and then giving up.
