....your pizza fucking sucks and tastes like a piece of cardboard covered in dog turd.
For the DUers here in Colorado and especially Denver, it's Anthony's if you want real pizza.

(14,337 posts)It did not add up. Besides which, most food chains hire part-time employees who don't get health benefits so Papa wouldn't be a dime for them before or now.

(39,961 posts)Tombstone Cheese, first. It's not the greatest pizza in the world, but it is tasty, which is more than I can say about Papa John's, and it's much cheaper.

(52,195 posts)the path to success is to start with a restaurant that does good business with quality ingredients but a simple and replicable menu. then build a second restaurant to prove you can, then franchise the crap out of it. then, once you've gotten a sizeable customer base and reputation, start scaling back on the quality in favor of cheapness, and watch the profits roll in.
then sell out and retire, or if you care to, rinse and repeat.
one of the few upsides of growing up in columbus, ohio, was eating at some of the original wendy's stores (including the very first one on broad and high) when they first started. the burgers then were absolutely amazing. then the company got really big and the burgers went way down in quality. still far better than mcd's, which at the time was even suckier than it is today, but there was a very clear decline in both size and quality of the beef.

(33,688 posts)Of the major burger chains, Wendy's is the best by an order of galactic magnitude. The burgers taste recognizably and pleasingly beefy and the fries are excellent. I will drive past a McDonalds and go five miles out of my way to a Wendy's when the burger jones hits me.
If only In 'n' Out were national. Sigh.

(52,195 posts)nevermind that the custom-ordered meal was built fresh and ready by the time you were finished paying.
at that time, mcd's typically had a 30 minute wait for a special order.

(33,688 posts)Lake Calhoun. If there was a huge wood-fired stone pizza oven, and the pie only baked 90-100 seconds, it's Punch. They're certified by the Neapolitan Pizza Authority (Vera Pizza Napoletana).
Locations are listed at their website. www.punchpizza.com
