Mom took a gift from a DUer into her final resting place

Last June mom got sick and went in the hospital. Then she was transferred to a recovery center. w8liftinglady was nice enough to hand make mom a bracelet. Mom went ape over it. She loved and talked of it often. It was almost lost in the emergency room in January. It was found two days later. Crisis averted.

My entire extended family wishes to thank w8liftinglady for her gift that meant so much to mom in her last months. Mom will be wearing it through the end of time. Our family will never forget the story behind the bracelet.

Warmest regards to the DU for all the karma of the last year for mom,

OS and family

w8liftinglady sent me one of her hand beaded bracelets. I carry it with me always. I consider it my "good luck" charm, so I know the attachment your mom felt for hers.

I am very sorry for your loss Steve.

it is a hard thing. Take care, Sreve. I know it might not help right now, but try to remember the good times. When i feel low, I remember a day a few weeks before she died. I faked that I was sick to stay home from school. She probably knew it, but let me stay (I never missed much). She was going to walk to the bank, and asked if I wanted to get breakfast with her. At the time, we were vegetarians, mainly because of my dad. We had eggs and bacon for breakfast- our little secret. It was nice having her to myself for once (I have two sisters), if only for a little while. We talked and laughed and discussed what we were going to do for thanksgiving. Unfortunately, she died on t-day, so that holiday is always rough for me. But I think about our morning together and it helps. I am glad I played hooky.

On edit: kudos to w8lifting lady (one of my favorites at DU). You brought a little light to someone else's life
