Which Republican candidate can you visualize as the Commander in Chief ??

Michele Bachman? "Get Barack Obama on the line and ask him what I should do?"

Ron Paul? "Get the hell out, right now!"

Rick Santorum? "Let us pray."

Newt Gingrich? "Call the Joint Chiefs and get the bombs ready."

Mitt Romney? "We need to find out how this is going to affect our business before we make a decision."

Rick Perry? "Let me call Dubya and see what he thinks?"

It's just difficult to imagine any of these Bozos as President of the United States. Whatever criticism we may have of Barack Obama, it is hard to argue that he has not been a strong Commander in Chief.

He was every bit as unprofessional as the worst of this year's sorry lot, about on par with Herman Cain.

Yes, Obama has been strong in the so called "war on terror" but he has been incredibly weak on just about everything else that matters to me. Environment, civil liberties, foreign policy. I don't want a "protector" president, I don't feel scared of terrorists lurking under the bed or in every corner. That was Bush's shtick.

AS far as the republicans go, they have nothing to offer, so they aren't even part of the equation.

Not about the other issues you mention. I cannot disagree with you on many of those issues. Not that the Republicans would be any better on those issues either. I was only talking about the issue of Commander in Chief.

The RepubliBaggers always choose Chickenhawks for their "Commanders" -- so they have lots of options. As always. Teh Newtie plays 'tough guy" the way they like, so I figure they will pick him as their Chickenhawk in Cheat. Newtie's pockets bulging with the socialist payola he took for "consulting" with socialist government agencies, his neck festooned with bling from Tiffany's, no one is more representative of what the RepubliBaggers are all about.

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” - H.L. Mencken

Oh--I suppose you meant THIS year. For some reason, my mind wouldn't even go there.

I remember when Santorum was the weird guy and now he's starting to sound almost normal. This is what happens when republicans cater to the fringe in order to win elections. They end up being stuck with them.
