From a friend of a friend on Facebook

My friend mentioned that Ryan was a great pick and was making Obama and the media nervous. I simply said, "keep thinking that." And out of the blue, this comment came from one of his friends, a total stranger to me. The whackos are out there. Here's what he said:

James you must be one of the 100 million now part of welfare, or just need to blame someone for your own failures. This country has been gutted and it's only due to ignorant people like yourself that are so misguided and dillusional by what
the liberal media feeds your mindless soul. If you have kids or grandkids there will be no freedom nor future for them and there future families due to the Democrats that will lie, steal, and cheat by any means necessary for their agenda. Guess what? The war has already been won, if your not familiar with the war, it was on the cross in blood and we Christians will never go to the depths liberals do to destroy our country. You just need to pick which side your on and I think thats clear. If you think this is harsh well just too bad, the truth is the truth. Now go get your morning Kool-Aid on MSNBC or CNN!!!!!!!

And all I said was "keep thinking that." And this guy went off on me like this. Amazing!

Boy, the brainwashing is rampant, isn't it? How do you de-program so many people at one time? That's the only way I can see this country coming back together.

Those assholes are completely oblivious to the fact that they had plenty of time to make their fucking comments in the first place. I saw that bullshit all the time when I used to go to HuffyPoo. The right wing trolls would spend all day there commenting, but it's the "libs" who aren't working.

I think it might be something like this:

Dear friend of friend.

I am writing to let you know that someone has seized your facebook password and is posting the most ignorant rant in your name, full of misinformation and insults, and making you look incredibly stupid! I thought you would want to know.

Signed I shout and scream

Dear friend,

I'm really worried about your buddy, friend of friend. You should check in on him. He's posting some really crazy stuff that reminds me of the rants Ted Kaczynski used to have. Is he on some kind of medication that he forgot to take? I'm afraid he might hurt someone.

Signed,

Your concerned friend.

I actually tried something similar to this when my brother posted some crazyass right-wing, anti-Obama shit on his Facebook page. I just typed in, "Off your meds?" I thought twice about it, and took it down within a minute of posting it. But, it was up long enough that my brother apparently saw it. His crazy rant was gone by morning.

I dread visits with them anymore and though I can't just cut them all off, I'm postponing visits with them until the election is over and they're beaten and see their irrelevance and just take a "Oh what the hell" attitude. I'm sure as hell not going to spend time with them before the election; Hell I don't even want to talk on the phone with them.

they are just revealing their own insecurities about their chosen political party. They are desperate because Rethugs only have hate and lies and rants like this just prove it. A lot of psychological projection going on there too.

Getting into a back and forth with someone like that is pointless so I suggest just blocking them so you don't have to be subjected to their irrational hate and bullshit.

that kind of double-speak really annoys me. They call 'god' into the discussion when they think it suits them, but ignore that same god when push really comes to shove. The battle your friend is talking about being won on the cross, is the victory over death. If he really believes that, then why cling so hard to his life in this world, and all the trappings that he's so afraid of losing? He isn't going to take it to heaven with him.

the other thing I'd REALLY like some right wing conservative to explain to me is HOW wanting all citizens to have a safety net is bad? It isn't like the politicians pushing this agenda have anything personal to gain from the proposition.

I can tell you that the right wing preference for the wealthy- benefits select individuals and that that greed DOES cause the death of American citizens. What reason do Democratic politicians have for implementing policies which will require that they pay more taxes? Pres. Obama, and many other Democrats acknowledge that asking those who are wealthy to pay "their fair share" would impact them too. They aren't advocating something they will personally benefit from. Can the republicans make the same claim?

I'd like to hear them defend that.

celebrated their NHS. You could send him this but the usual canned response for a person who has been harmed by smoking is (No one forced him/her to smoke) however if you look back when it was cool to be prescribed cigarettes.....

http://mediabane.com/vintage-ads-advertise-cigarettes-as-medicine/

In the past, people were constantly sick because they didn’t have advanced exercise equipment like video game systems and micro-suede recliners. Doctors had few options. The most common treatment was a handful of leeches followed by two swigs of whiskey. After it was discovered that leeches love blood spiked with whiskey, the prescription was changed from two swigs to half a bottle.

By the time cigarettes came along, physicians were desperate for something that appeared to help people rather than kill them immediately. Tobacco was untested, uncertified, and inexplicably delicious. Doctors started prescribing cigarettes to pregnant mothers and Polio patients almost immediately.

Your friend would be hard pressed to thumb his nose at the person facing these decisions...

all the time from republicans. I know they repeat this over and over and over on Fox and it has stuck. They also repeat it on media and everything they write in newspapers…so their people firmly believe it.

We are just a bunch of lazy do nothings that are feeding on a big fat tit of the government…

I think a campaign on our side showing firemen, policemen, teachers, students who made good after loans, etc might help…show bridges, freeways, national tourist places that people want to visit…make a great ad about it. And use real people who helped build it talking about how the government funds made it all possible.

I know they have done it before, but it needs to be over and over again just like Fox before people at large will see, government is not the big bad boy they think it is….

They are into their churches….well show a ton of them and say our government IRS is letting them pay zero taxes.

for the purpose of redeeming people who spat on him and called for his torture and execution.

I would have pointed this out to the FB idiot, and then further commented that although I, personally, am not holy enough to be that self-sacrificial myself, I am willing to pay enough taxes so every child can be fed, every sick person can see a doctor, and every elderly person too old to work can live out the rest of their lives in dignity. Are you willing to do that? What are you willing to sacrifice for those less fortunate? Jesus was willing to be tortured to death for them. I'm just willing to pay more taxes. What are you willing to do?

,even if you don't have a church. Tell him you'll be praying for the Lord to help him to see things as they really are and to finally understand what it really means to be a Christian. Tell him how sorry you feel for him, since it's obvious that it's not the Lord residing in his heart but the "other guy".

Turns out most of them really hate that.
