I never once thought they'd consider using that song. I was really disappointed that they didn't use any Monty Python in the opening ceremony, but it's more fitting here.

It's by far his most popular, and very good for a sing-along (even if crowds don't whistle well together). Crowds often sing it as an ironic 'oh well' after their team's lost.

It was edited from the original version from "Life of Brian," taking out the cursing and movie dialogue, because it had become a big sporting event/pub singalong.

Here in America? We tried to get the movie banned.
