(Wisconsin Wave) Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus has threatened to destroy the entire County's ballots as early as Monday at noon.

Dear friends and supporters,

We know we emailed many of you just yesterday to let you know about the tremendous progress the Hand Count Votes Now coalition, which is conducting a Citizen Audit of the recall election, has made over the past few weeks.

However we have just received breaking news we had to tell you about as soon as possible- Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus has threatened to destroy the entire County's ballots as early as Monday at noon.

The background here is that while most County Clerks have been more than happy to work with us, Waukesha County's Kathy Nickolaus illegally denied our open records request to count ballots in the county.

Furthermore, just yesterday we learned that she is illegally planning on destroying Waukesha's ballots despite the fact that open records law gives petitioners 60 days to appeal a denial. If ballot destruction does indeed occur we'll never be able to know to what extent machine fraud and/or error might have affected election totals in Waukesha!

Right now we are working with our legal team to do everything possible to stop this from happening (if you have additional legal expertise in this area that you could provide please let us know!)

We are also calling for a rally Monday morning at 11am at Frame Park in the city of Waukesha, which is across the way from the Waukesha County government building.

Join us and let Kathy Nickolaus know that Wisconsinites have a RIGHT to view the recall ballots, and that if she goes ahead with the ballot destruction anyway she will be held accountable legally!

There was a scene in "Guide for the Married Man" that perfectly illustrate the Republican method. The advice that Robert Morse gives to married men, is "Never Admit Anything." It is illustrated in a scene where Sid Caesar is caught in bed with another woman, by his wife Imogene Coca. His wife demands an explanation and Caesar immediately gets up, starts getting dressed and asking her what she is talking about. He continues to question her, denies there is a woman, denies he was in bed with her, denies everything his wife saw and is seeing with her own eyes. His girlfriend quietly gets dressed and walks out and at the end Caesar is dressed too, his girllfriend is gone and his wife is too astonished to protest.

Frankly I am sick of pretending that there is no proof. Republicans are flat out cheating their asses off everywhere you look and will steal this election and any election they want as long as no one calls them on it.They would never let us get away with this kind of shit.

I just got off the phone with Kelly, the deputy clerk in Waukesha County. There are NO BALLOTS SCHEDULED TO BE SHREDDED TODAY, AND THEY'VE NOT EVEN SET A DATE TO SHRED THEM.

The person I was getting my info from was a ballot counter working in Wakasha(sp?) County. She was the one who posted that she had checked with the powers that be and was told no ballots were scheduled to be destroyed that day. That said, it appears that the threat may have real.
