Chuck's saying Robme's "senior problem" makes it hard for him to win now

Anyone just see Chuck Todd with the electoral map??

Because Ryan = Senior problem, he could lose FL, Iowa, and PA - with high senior populations.

And that doesn' say anything about his "hispanic" problem.

Because if he loses FL, he has to win WI, NV, NH, VA, NC, OHIO !!!!

Geez, what an idiot. He now has a 54% to 38% lead with seniors. Watch that erode.

any little change sets both of them into an obsessive, won't-let-it-go direction. It will scare people, because it seems once some idea like this takes hold, then where do they stop.....it will extend to current programs, imo.

Todd's perspective is very, very conventional.

I think people need to start looking at the Rmoney/Repuglican strategy from a different point of view.

Todd won't talk about it because it conflicts with his conservative background: Rmoney and the Repuglicans are planning on stealing Florida.

And Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Rmoney and Repuglicans are going to do everything they can to drive down participation in this election.
The addition of Koch acolyte Paul Ryan to the Repuglican ticket means even more (if you can imagine it) money to be spent to make this one of the ugliest elections in modern times.

For all of Rmoney's inadequacies as a candidate, the plutocrats are intent upon putting him in the White House -- no matter what the cost.

have heard who is actually looking at this pick from a different perspective. Everyone else this morning
was saying what a great idea it was, picking Eddie. MoJoe this morning was a lovefest for R&R. So, at least Chuck is making sense.

I agree with the voter suppression biting us. Wish there was something that could be done. Hopefully the feds will stop the PA voter ID.

Aug 2012

We don't out-number them.

That is why the national presidential polls have always shown this race to be within five or six points.

Even in the so-called swing states, Obama's margin generally was only 2 or 3 percent in 2008.

This is certainly not going to be like 2008; we are just not going to have the same turnout and I haven't seen a projection that says we will.

Sorry to be a 'downer' ... but I am just trying to call attention to a serious challenge from the corporatist plutocrats: they will cheat and they will spend whatever they have to to take back the White House.

This election is not going to be about issues -- don't be distracted -- this is going to be an election about mechanics.

I have more faith in people's self survival. You get people at Romney/Ryan events screaming about Medicare, Social Security, it will get people's attention.

It is the THIRD RAIL, the GOP are in for a shock...I don't care how much they hate Obama, don't mess with their gubbmint check or Medicare...know what I mean?

And even factoring in the shenanigans of the Voter ID law - such is impacting the trailer parks as much as the urban areas because distances to get to the DMVs to get such an ID are greater for those in rural areas. At least I am *finally* seeing some M$M calling PA "lean Democrat" vs "swing state" or "toss up" because based on their nonsensical criteria, NJ, which voted for Poppy Bush in 1992, should then be a "swing state" vs "strong Democrat" (and they rotate governorships and state legislatures by party as much as PA does).

Almost a month ago - http://articles.cnn.com/2012-07-23/politics/politics_pennsylvania-voter-id_1_pennsylvania-voter-id-law-voter-turnout-justice-department

I believe they are looking at a possible Sect. 2 (vs Sect. 5) violation.

In the meantime, I think they are watching to see what the state court decides first. A ruling from the Commonwealth Court is due this week and then with any appeal (expected from either side), the state Supreme Court should at least do something not long after (I don't think they will wait until right before the election). The issue being that this law violates the state Constitution which calls for "free and equal elections".

http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/LI/CT/HTM/00/00.HTM

§ 5. Elections.
Elections shall be free and equal; and no power, civil or
military, shall at any time interfere to prevent the free
exercise of the right of suffrage.
