So as not to mislead: I am informed Countdown will not be on tonight. I must defer on all questions to @JoelHyatt @AlGore and@Current.

Something odd going on at Current?
" the programming change appears to have taken the Countdown host completely by surprise. He tweeted to a fan, earlier today, that he was headed into the office now for Countdowns return from holiday hiatus."

It might be a last minute thing, extending Cenk's time because of the Iowa Circus, er, Caucus.

(24,331 posts)I can't say I'm hugely surprised. He cost them a fortune, didn't bring over that much of his audience, and a lot of those he did bring over--like me--stopped watching when it became the Keith's Ego show. People tuned in to the original Countdown for insightful and biting commentary as well as Keith inviting on expert analysts. On Current and toward the end on MSNBC, it had heavily devolved into bombastic commentary from a "Keith knows best" perspective.

I think people just want to cause trouble. The guy is great and the show is even better now that he doesn't have M$NBC telling him what he could put on his show. If he was still with that crap network he wouldn't have been able to cover occupy like he has been.

(8,556 posts)I think this is an obvious shot at the management there. He's giving the impression that he's not 'in the loop.'
Assuming he believes he should be in the loop, this is a criticism of Current management. He's wagering his public support against theirs.
