Ha! Mitt Romney’s constitutional amendment would bar Paul Ryan from the presidency. I love this guy.

Mitt Romney’s constitutional amendment would bar Paul Ryan from the presidency

Three years ago, Mitt Romney proposed a constitutional amendment that would say “the president has to spend three years working in business before he becomes president of the United States. Then he or she would understand that the policies they are putting into place have to encourage small business to grow.

As Andrew Kaczsynski notes, that provision would disqualify Paul Ryan, who has spent his life working for the government, first as a congressional staffer and then as a congressman.

To be clear about the point here, I think this reflects how dumb Romney’s proposed constitutional amendment is, not Ryan’s fitness for the presidency. It also reflects Romney’s tendency to take positions strategically without carefully considering their long-term impact. When he made that comment, was it really so difficult for him to imagine naming a vice president without business experience? That would, for instance, disqualify career military men, like Gen. David Petraeus.

Thank you, God, for Mitt Romney.

But it does show you how effective the Bain attacks have been. He has been reduced to running as a walking contradiction; tax-cutting deficit hawk.

The only thing Republicans can fix are elections.

To run for office. And right now, NONE of the GOP would pass. You don't need to run a business to be President, you just need brain and compassion. Both of those are lacking with the Repukes.

I really believe they should have comprehension tests, panic tests, essay tests. And if you can't pass the test, you can't run for ANY office. People who go to religious colleges should be looked at twice. Bush, Michelle Bachmann and Palin are very good examples of those could NEVER pass any of those tests.
It's for the security of our country. Dumb Presidents ARE dangerous.

Romney is directly contradicting his publicly professed criticism of President Obama. Romney said Obama doesn't have any business experience and so he chooses a vice presidential running mate, who would be one step away from the presidency, who doesn't either?

I hope the president brings that up in the debate.

How about if you have to incorporate first, and only corporations can be President. Then we wouldn't need a VP, hell-just have one election and let the corp. stay in power.
What an ass.
