It is the image itself that disturbs me.

He, trump, is shrouded in darkness, only a few windows with fading light, the man grossly obese due to the excesses he gorges on. I am not just referring to the fat food he feeds on but our civil rights and liberties. An arm raised in a Nazi salute celebrating the darkness of dictators past. His flock are just shadowy figures of the night that shun the light.

I do not know if we will survive his presidency or where we will be if we are able to move back to the light.



Get out and vote. This may be our last chance. The burn it all down crowd were fools and tools. They sat out the vote. I hope they have learned. Guess we will see if the purity they wished for will this time become votes for survival of us all.

But the shadows and lighting has a feel of something from 1930's Germany. And it's happening in my home state and the state I live in. These are not light times but we must stay resolved and strong. Fascism will not go quietly into the dark. We must commit ourselves to outlasting them and remembering the fights of our elders.

My grandpa is one of the few remaining members of an aircraft carrier sunk by Imperial Japan in the largest naval battle in world history. He fought so that we could live free. A new generation of Americans may need to relive these experiences even though I hope we never will have to.
