Both of my parents were veterans of WWII. Mom stateside, Dad in the Pacific.
They made it to 94 and 93 years of age, got to vote for Obama, and we thought the country had finally grown up.

As much as I miss them, I am glad they are not here to witness what is happening in this country.
If the diseases they had during old age hadn't taken them, what this country is becoming surely would have.

Especially my Dad who was a lifelong Republican. I think he was OK with Obama being elected - my dad actually lived to see that. But I doubt that he would have voted for Obama. My Dad passed in 2011 from cancer, however if he had lived I'm sure he would have died of shame over Trump by now. I'm thankful he didn't live to see this.

I'm an optimistic person and I believe we're going to come out of this stronger and (hopefully) smarter as a nation.

two in the Amy and two in the Navy, all four serving in the Pacific Theater. If they were alive, they'd be 113, 103, 102, and 99 years old. They're all long since deceased. They were all good men and good Democrats!
