Maybe they can also contract out the permanent residents of the camps to be used as laborers in the farm fields.
Like back in the slave days picking cotton.
The brilliance of MAGA, right? You know its probably already in the works.

accepted one and all into the United States, with asylum status (or even perhaps under a new type of B1-style work-visa, if you wanted to be real capitalist about it, but with the chance to become U.S. Citizens, and accept all the responsibility that should come with that franchise), and allowed to move wherever the hell they pleased within the U.S....like maybe 2 out of 100 redhats who are so upset about this situation would ever even come into contact with any of them.

More likely, the bulk will just be turned away at the border, as usual. It is fucking disgusting that the Republicans would be making a campaign issue out of this. It's just completely unmasked racism/white fright.

Yes, I realize it's symbolic, but what the actual fuck is wrong with people?

Hence, why Trump and Repubs have been calling it an invasion. The Dems need to file suit now, claiming it violates federal law. Or next Wedesday.

And push the "invaders" back. If the President orders it, they can do it. And Trump is stupid enough to do something like that. Worse, Trump doesn't know what he can and can't do legally. He's fully off his nut.

So tRump could say "Can I do this?" And his lawyers will say Yes automatically. Just like they did when they said he could write an executive order to override a Constitutional Amendment.

yes. pandemonium will ensue. i don't know about everyone on DU, but if the republicans steal the election in 5 days, or if anybody from the USA kills these refugees, splits up their families, refuses to recognize that these are asylum seekers not "illegals" - well i mean there are many things, many bad things, done by this administration without any checks from congress because of feckless republicans.
i'm struggling to get this out. personally i'm thinking general strike. in fact i've been contemplating the reality that it could cost me my job and thinking it would be worth it.

i was in LA during the Simi Valley (Rodney King) trial. A terrible outcome for a murdered 15-year-old's killer happened while the trial was going on - the shopkeeper who killed her was given probation. It was like the city suspended, holding its breath, waiting for justice from the trial going on in Simi Valley. When the police were acquitted, the riots commenced. I don't think very many people were surprised.

I feel as if the country now is waiting with bated breath for this election to be over. If it goes bad it bodes very badly for the future of our democracy, and if we can't change the trajectory with our vote we'll have to do something else. not riots, but massive marches and a general strike. that's what i'm thinking.

It's all stuff that is designed to fire up Trump's base, really. Once that's no longer needed, I suspect that he's going to pull back on a lot of it. Suddenly, we'll hear that all those troops won't be needed, that the caravan is shrinking, etc.

If we get back control of the House, he'll have no choice. And if Mueller moves along the path he seems to be on, Trump may have other things to worry about. The Mueller probe has been very quiet leading up to the Midterm election. Again, once that's over, the gloves may come off and new indictments, a subpoena of Trump and other events may occur.

We just have to get through Tuesday and have a good outcome I think. Then, things will start falling a little more back into place.

So I believe, anyhow.

This means they HAVE TO COME TO AMERICA!

I saw another post that he said something to the effect that if somebody throws rocks, Trump said our military will respond as if they had weapons. This is another heaping load of shit from the President. You will see cases of insubordination and Officers directly refusing to obey or convey those orders to the junior enlisted.
