Back in My younger days..80s I was in a rehab for obvious reasons..(I was just a big partier)
Hospital was In San Diego.. Scipps Hospital.. There was a whole wing dedicated to Airline Pilots..

In fact, going out to the nearby bar was about the only thing they did do in their free time, unless they were one of the crews that got in super late (like midnight or 1am), then they would usually just go to bed.
It was sort of an eye-opening experience given that I guess I had a pretty esteemed view of pilots at the time!

(13,533 posts)Many airlines say 12 hours. I would think you could still be pretty hungover if you drank a lot in the hotel bar the night before a morning flight.
I used to know a lot of pilots (and took flying lessons) and yep, they drank.

And every aviator knows (or should know) the first thing they do in a mishap is lock up the maintenance records, and draw blood from everyone in the crew, obviously only if a body was ever found.
