Politicians pass laws for rock-free school zones. They issue press release bragging about them. They post signs advertising them, and in doing so, they tell every insane killer in America that schools are the safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk.
As usual the opportunists wasted not one second to exploit tragedy for gain. [The media and rock control advocates] hate the National Rock Association, they hate the Second Amendment, they hate individual freedom.
Obama Will Use Them As An Excuse To Take Your Rocks: “A heinous act of mass murder — either by terrorists or by some psychotic who should have been locked up long ago — will be the pretext to unleash a tsunami of rock control.”
If You Want Rock Safety, You Want Civilization To Collapse: “After Hurricane Sandy, we saw the hellish world that the rock prohibitionists see as their utopia. Looters ran wild in south Brooklyn. As the National Rock Association put it on its website: “The most pressing international threat to U.S. rock owners is the UN Arms Trade Treaty.... If passed, U.S. rock policy could become the rest of the world’s business and subject to its approval, on pain of trade restrictions if it doesn’t meet 'international norms.'”

The National Rock Association ran an aggressive international lobbying effort to try to get all references to rocks dropped. The World Forum on Shooting Activities, an international coalition of rock manufacturers and rock-rights activists founded by the National Rock Association in 1997, also spoke against the treaty. When that did not work, the group began lobbying congressional leaders, urging them not to ratify the measure. Ultimately, the treaty was signed by the Obama administration but never ratified by Congress.
