(10,721 posts)For starters, Abrams would be the first Black female governor in US history. And Kemp has been doing all he can to suppress the vote.
I want Beto to win, of course, but if he doesn't, he can challenge Cornyn in 2020 or Cruz in 2024. I could also see him taking a cabinet position in the next administration.
All 3 Republican opponents are deplorable.

(249 posts)Anyone who can defeat a R is fantastic to me. All of the ones in the poll are special because the media hypes them the most, so we know the most about them.
So nervous for Tuesday, mainly because of the R's messing with the voting machines etc.!! Please let the Blue Wave succeed over all!!!!

(8,656 posts)This actually could be a monstrous thumping for the GOP on Tuesday.

(14,565 posts)That's the way they look at it. These are not isolated races. Trends attach everywhere. If the wave is enough to push Beto over the line in a state with 44% self-identified conservatives, then Abrams will win in a state with 40% conservatives and Gillum will win in a state with 36% conservatives.
For reference, Beto is roughly a 7/2 underdog while Abrams is 3/2 underdog and Gillum is 3/2 favorite.

(5,506 posts)The Beto win has the added benefit of banishing Cruz from the public square.
