Trump and his Republicans don't believe their lies. Unbelieved lies are worse than lies.

If you deliberately lie and your listener deliberately accepts it, then it's not a lie. It's something far worse. Trump and his Republicans have now drifted into the darkest area of lies. The lies are simply tissue-thin pretexts for building up their will to do rotten things.

Trump and his Republican political backers, by and large, don't actually believe there is voter fraud, for example. They just tell that lie to one another so they don't feel bad about doing what they "feel like doing," which is mugging people to steal their right to vote. The pretext lie (which they simply deliberately neglect to run through their truth filter) lets them feel like they aren't muggers. Which they in fact are.

It goes on and on, but you get the idea. Trump is providing his Republicans with a service. He's telling them the lies they want to hear to do the rotten things many of them want to do anyway. They want to take away healthcare from the poor and those with preexisting conditions, so Trump tells them he and his Republicans won't do it. They all know it's a lie, but they aren't going to check it. They want to do what they want to do. The lie makes them feel good while they do it.

Once your political opponent gets to the point where they are just simply lying all the time, it's important to realize that it's no longer a debate you are in. The lies they are telling themselves and us have nothing to do with convincing us or even themselves of anything. The lies are there to help them build up the will and strength to mug us politically. They simply want to brute overpower us, the left leaning majority, and the lies are just a means to that end.

It is the ultimate sign of Having No Philosophy, a reaching back to barbarism and the brute force that we're trying to evolve away from.

It is also weakness, repressed hysteria, the Path Leading Down, and a call to end the human experiment.

Fail. They must fail.

They're either deliberately ignorant, just plain stupid or lying and they know it.
