(58,634 posts)after a rather successful term as gov. I always smelled a little bullshit there. But I have to admit, I don't have to put up with the RW crazies like folks in red stats do.
I hope there is some there there. We need every Dem senator we can get elected, even if they might be a bit of a blue dog. I was never into purity tests anyway.

(135 posts)If you are looking for a Senate upset on election day your best is here (sorry Beto). Why?
Two reasons:
1. Phil Bredesen is one of most popular politicians in recent memory in that state. He gets results. The voters know him well and love him
2. Marsha Blackburn. Her favorable ratings are pretty poor for a Republican in Tennessee. Even for Tennessee, she is too much a of lunatic for a lot of voters
You usually can get an idea of what the internals are showing based on a candidates actions and words. Based on what she has been saying lately, she looks rather desperate. That is why I would disregard the public polling (that Fox News poll was complete BS of Blackburn +9), especially in this race. This is a very unique race, and I think a lot of pollsters are missing hidden Bredesen support. There is a reason Trump is coming to Chattanooga this late in the race. He would not be doing that if the race was not close. I am not say Bredesen will win, but this race will be a lot closer than people think.

If there is a high turnout she loses.
