His sister was Pres Obama's Secretary of Commerce.

Extremely hard working family with vast philanthropic interests.

He self founded his campaign. The family fortune comes from past ownership of Hyatt

2. He is a good man.

He is wealthy, but a philanthropist. He comes by his wealth honestly.

I have been to many campaign events for Democrats this year and last year. He shows up everywhere, even in the most red dominated districts. I admire his accessibility to prospective voters. Only Durbin is better at accessibility in this state.

Rauner, the repubbie incumbent, is a fool and corrupt. He won (bought) his election by the narrowest of margins. He has bankrupted our state. Our credit rating was nearly reduced to junk bond level. He will not negotiate and does not believe there should be a minimum wage at all. He tried very hard to break unions here, and turn us into a right to work state. I hope he joins some of our other governors in going to jail. He was primaried, and nearly lost to a RWNJ who is even worse than he is!

I am sorry that our election has come down to a fight between two billionaires. But in truth, it is much more than that. Pritzker cares about our state: ALL of it.

Tell your daughter to vote for Pritzker.

3. Even corrupt sh*t-heel Dems (not saying Pritzker is) are better than the most upright Repukes.

It's nice to be idealistic and pretend that one can judge a candidate on their character and such, or their stance on one particular pet issue, but that sh*t is for the primaries.

In a general election all that matters is voting for the candidate most likely to win (i.e. not an obscure 3rd party or write-in) who is NOT a Rapeblican. It really just boils down to that.

Every politician's FIRST loyalty is to their PARTY (then donors, last voters). And Repukes are the party of authoritarianism, unfettered corporatism, Protestant Christian theocracy, and white nationalism. Nope, nope, nope, nope.

One of those hideously rich for generations families that I'd really like to inheritance tax into the merely rich.

They had a really nasty feud-- younger heirs suing older heirs.

I don't know. If a rich guy is going to be elected, better this one than... you know. Fake billionaire Trump.

Asked his wife why is he running for governor when he could be taking it easy on some island paradise. Her answer? He wanted to give something back to the people of Illinois.

That sold me right then..all the nonsense of being a hack for Madigan, no billionaire needs to bow down to any one.

As you probably know, any democrat who runs for office on any level will be accused of being a hack for Madigan... he's the Nancy Pelosi of Illinois politics that republicans like to stick to anyone.
