North Dakota soybean farmers suffering irreparable damage to industry because of tariffs.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/05/business/soybeans-farmers-trade-war.html

Chinese demand for soybeans literally created North Dakota’s soybean industry. ND soybean farmers invested millions over last several years to establish and solidify the market with China. They told Chinese buyers to buy American soybeans because America was reliable, politically stable and the product was high quality. Then came Trump's tariffs. Payments Trump has made to ND farmers only cover 1/2 of losses.

This comment to the article says it all: "North Dakota farmers need to hunker down, because Trump is going to keep the trade war talk going at least through the 2020 election cycle if not 2022. Trump will never quiet China's fear of future trade wars even if a new agreement is signed. Permanent damage has been done.

I find it so inconceivable that a farmer that is heavily dependent on open trading borders and liberal globalism is all in with a President that is an anti-trade, anti-global nationalist. Why would a man elect a President who's ideology basically would destroy his own business? Forgive me for saying this, but this is what I find so suicidal. They have gambled their livelihoods, if not their farms/homes on the hope that a con man will pull through for them. This is insanity."

At least they will be able to grow industrial hemp after we pass Proposal 1.

We should turn MI into the industrial hemp capital of the world.

Which candidates are they supporting this year?

Elections have consequences, and anyone with half, or even a tenth of a brain could tell that Trump was going to be an unmitigated disaster. They voted for him. Too fucking bad about their livelihoods, because they don't give a flying fuck about mine or anyone else's.

Very.

But then what often happens, once someone sees the light, then they switch to a mindset of "Don't get mad, get even"... And I think some of that is what propelled Democrats to be able to take over the House in 2006 after 12 years out of power, plus be able to get enough seats for a tie in the Senate then too - just from people who had had enough. And even with the ridiculous Iraq/Afghanistan Wars, terra terra terra Code Orange no Code Yellow, Bin Laden Bin Laden Bin Laden, & Katrina, what we are going through now makes that stuff almost look like a walk in the park.
