Haberman claims that rather than do his job after midterms, Trump will do 2020 "MAGA rallies."

The commander-in-chief seems to love the cheers he receives from his base more than he enjoys running the country.

That may not end after the midterm elections, a New York Times reporter who helped the newspaper win a Pulitzer Prize for her coverage of Trump’s first year in office explained on Monday.

After a Wall Street Journal reporter noted that the rallies were “all about Trump,” NYT White House correspondent Maggie Haberman warned that the pattern would not end after Tuesday’s vote.

“Worth considering that he is likely to start up this type of travel again fairly soon after the midterms,” Haberman tweeted. “It’s one of the parts he likes best and campaign 2020 begins quick.”

So they will announce for 2020 ASAP after Tuesday. It will be a race to see who can attack Trump best and fastest.

He loves the attention. That is the only reason he ran in the first place. He even said he didn't expect to win and was shocked when he did. Last year a reporter asked him, "What would the older Donald Trump tell a younger Donald Trump?". He answered honestly (for once), "Don't run for president". No one covered this very much but it stuck in my mind.

He loves three things...attention, more and more money and himself. Period.

He should pay for the rallies himself. They should limit his security budget, too. And no monies expended to Trump properties. He can pay for his own trips and security.

Is that democratic control of Congress will force more sensible policies, which unfortunately would help Trump as they help the nation. Democrats will need to craft a fine tuned message to overcome that effect.

Which is a delusional dream of the faux-Clinton/Sanders supporters who voted for him. That this is all a fascade, a bait and switch, and that deep down Trump will do the right thing.

Hat tip: he's already branded himself as a psychopathic populist right wing white nationalist. There's no fucking way he signs legislation that does anything. The Senate will likely remain gridlocked (because the rural vote is in heavy control of the Senate). Nothing will get done. And the Democrats will get blamed as per usual.

I don't think the tax cuts get repealed, but the attack on preexisting conditions, SS, Medicare and Medicaid stops. I think he will sign legislation where he is cornered and that legislation will prove to be good for the country. I have no illusions that he won't take credit for all successes and try to blame all failures on majority Dems, that is why I think the Dems need a fine tuned message and adaptable as the campaign heats up, they have to counter Trump's lies.

2018 races that should be broken down and analyzed are Abrams-Kemp in Georgia, McCaskill-Hawley in Missouri and and Heitkamp in North Dakota. If they win certainly, but even if they just lose. The three women have forced their opponent into mistake after mistake while building a powerful turnout machine, that is what the 2020 Dem nominee need to do to Trump.

At some point, even his maggots are going to realize that he is screwing them. The optics of thinner and thinner attended rallies as he heads to defeat in 2020 will be satisfying. Lies can keep people from assessing their true condition only so long.

I hope he considers staging it like a traveling Ed Sullivan Show. A couple of comedians, a guy who keeps 12 plates spinning, Topo Gigio IV, and Ted Nugent doing a medley of his hit. Every show can end with the Donald Trump Theme Song, with the spotlight on his ever-growing bald spot.

If we're paying him to be an entertainer, we might as well try to get a few yuks out of it.
