Is this normal?

I've never had any issues voting before. However, today the machine kept calling my ballot invalid and repeatedly spitting it back out at me. I checked it over many times and couldn't find anything wrong with it. The poll worker asked me if she could set it aside and she'd just try putting it back in at the end of the day. I told her absolutely not, that I'd like to fill out a new ballot instead. I filled out a new ballot and it went through just fine. However, I keep thinking about the poll worker asking me if she could set my ballot aside and put it in herself at the end of the day. That's not something they're supposed to be doing is it?

Different precincts likely have different processes for when issues come up. WhiskeyGrinder Nov 2018 #3
This does sound strange...good thing you completed another ballot. Better to be safe then... SWBTATTReg Nov 2018 #4

Although I’m willing to be it wasn’t anything nefarious, and the poll worker is just a dumbass.

sorry later. What difference does it make putting it in herself vs. you? I don't understand either.
