Every election cycle one DUer steps up and gets into the weeds and fleshes out all of the important races across the country.
This cycle we were particularly fortunate that RandySF stepped up and gave us hourly reports on all of the competitive House seats as well as the Senate seats.
This is a huge benefit to our community and saves us thousands of hours. His posts were accurate and supported Democratic challengers without succumbing to a cheerleader bias.
I had budgeted my time today to spend hours combing through the minutiae of 90 competitive races to have a check off list on who to watch. I prepared pencils, pads and two beers to get me through it.
Now I can just download RandySF's list and check it off as the night unfolds. Still keeping the beers.
You can find RandySF's list here:

I for one think that he should be rewarded with lots of pats on the back and a doubling of his DU stipend.
Thanks for a gigantic amount of research which saved us a lot of time.

(14,565 posts)I really appreciate that aspect. When Randy presents a race I know I'm receiving a real world appraisal.
Such a contrast to my early years on this site, when races were trotted out as winnable and I either had to bite my tongue or be called a troll if I disagreed and presented the basic math.
Also as a late nighter on the East Coast I enjoy Randy's timetable with so many threads debuting when the forum is otherwise quiet.
Great job

And you right in that others on DU do help provide really really good information. In all kinds of areas! It's like a digital encyclopedia DU-driven, and is incredible effective and accurate source of information.
I will, if I'm so bold, want to thank all DUers that go to this effort and work to post all KINDS of information for us here. The money I spend on DU is nothing compared to this and worth every cent.

RandySF is a true gem. I hope he's right about most of the governorships - except that Florida and maybe also Georgia are on the flip list, too?

(56,828 posts)The woman running in Connecticut you posted about a month or two back ended up losing her race for the state general assembly by 99 votes (50-50% tie, so it will go to a recount, I believe) The seat had gone Republican by at least 10% or more for over a decade, with elections every 2 years.
Oddly, while the local race was a near dead heat, my town flipped from Clinton over Trump by 11% in 2016 to the Republican governor candidate winning by 6% here this year. (The town went for Romney by 4% over Obama in 2012)
