all the time from Chris Matthews and other poll watchers. It is the one famous for Repub, educated women who voted for tRump but may flip. The few people I am still familiar with who still live in that area are all Dem, except for one, and they are all voting Dem. I hope this is a good sign.

(768 posts)Delaware County, MontCo's neighbor to the south is also turning a nice shade of blue. I have my fingers crossed that I will have Dem soon in Congress. The previous (R) guy resigned because of sexual harassment and is being replaced, hopefully, by a progressive lawyer, Mary Gay Scanlon, who will also represent our new un-gerrymandered district!

And unfortunately, from talking to my neighbors I've discovered that the GOP still holds significant sway here. Not nearly like it did even 10 years ago, but we're not Blue yet. The transition is in progress, but it's not yet complete.

(128,841 posts)but Montco did NOT vote for Drumpf in 2016. They now have their own newly-drawn Congressional district which incorporates almost the entire county (instead of being split in 4 - 5 pieces to be included in other districts) and it is pretty much a 99% chance of having a Democrat win that new PA-4 seat.
The one county that is having the heartburn at the moment is Bucks, just NE of Philly, which is pale red. The new district is now PA-1 (and includes a sliver of blue/purple Montgomery County) and this is where the incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick (brother of the previous (R) in that seat - Mike Fitzpatrick) is running neck and neck with the Democrat Scott Wallace.
That seat at one time had Patrick Murphy (D) when it was PA-8 (similar area), flipping that district when Democrats swept through Eastern PA in 2006.
I am hoping for a 2006 miracle there so PA could send 4 new Democratic seats (in addition to Conor Lamb's new 14th for a total of 5) to Congress! But I'll settle for the 4 (PA-5,6,7 + Conor's 14). That would make the new PA delegation 9 (D) - 9 (R) instead of the pre-Conor 13 (R) - 5 (D).
