10. That's not what it said. He might have gotten even fewer votes without it.

What 538 said was ambiguous.

It's not like most people who supported Blasey Ford would have voted for the Republican.

Well, Joe Donnelly of Indiana is done for. It might well be that the red state Democrat’s fate was sealed by his vote against Brett Kavanaugh in the Senate.

An interesting little tidbit from the preliminary exit polls out of Indiana, where Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly is fighting for his seat: 53 percent said that Donnelly’s vote against Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation was important in deciding their midterm vote.

13. Yeah, I read that, too and interpreted it differently. Because it would be lunacy

for any Democrat to vote for the Republican because they didn't like Donnelly's vote on Kavanaugh.

14. Exit polls are loosey goosey, but that is still a verifiable majority reason given.

It's a conservative area with conservative Dems. Manchin is a Democrat, which is hard to believe. Who knows. He lost, and that's that.

I know it won't happen and that it'd be a logistical nightmare, but I really wish we could just split the US into 2 countries. Red America would beg to reunite after a few years of austerity.

It's really all about racism and sexism. There's no Republican Party absent those 2 factors.
