TX, FLA, and GA are major victories in my book.

I thank the Democrats in those states who showed up and voted for our Democratic candidates. Flipping states like these from Red to Blue takes repeated time and effort. When I grew up in the 70s and 80s, CA and VA were reliably Republican. Look at them now.

Time and destiny are on our side. Don't let the pundits get you down. This was a big night for the Democrats. A huge win and a bright future for everyone.

We have three rising stars. We have expanded our base.

Do not be discouraged. Time is on our side.

that since 2010 and even before they have been stacking the odds against Dems. Unlike Repugs we actually need to campaign and earn votes and outvote by sizeable margins just to win. I think Maddow showed it best how we get screwed from gerrymandering and suppressing the vote.

Shows how important local gov is.

Let the investigations begin!

He won in 2012 by 16%. Tonight he squeaked by with 3%. Not exactly a mandate, and that's WITH Trump campaigning for him.

They introduced some fantastic new people to the rest of the country, and even if they don't pull it off tonight, I'm sure that this isn't the last we'll hear about Stacy Abrams, Andrew Gillum, or Beto O'Rourke.

VA was right next door. You could've said the same thing about VA even through the Clinton years. Things change over time.

were a big part of the problem during the Clinton years in Florida.

That's a reason why I had high hope for Gillum. We need new blood in this state.

14. I think Bill Nelson took this race for granted early

Many of us in Florida were in disbelief that he waited so long to campaign. Now it looks like it may have burned him because exit polls indicate Hispanics favored Nelson only 55-44. That is pathetic, especially in comparison to Hillary's 62-35 edge in 2016.

As mentioned on 538 tonight, Rick Scott ran a Spanish language ad early in the campaign asking, "Quien es Bill Nelson? (Who is...)

The ad belittled Nelson but Nelson did not respond at all for months.

I hate late emphasis as opposed to getting the jump early. Granted, Rick Scott has so much money he can spend whenever he wants and how much he wants.

13. Gillum losing was 3rd largest upset of the night according to 538

And the largest in a statewide race. Only two small House districts featured longer odds.

It was anything but a success. It is a disaster. Florida is a winnable state that continues to fall narrowly to Republicans in key races. And that impacts everything below. I live in Miami so I guess I feel it more than outsiders.

Pardon me if I'm still licking my wounds. I'm disgusted that there are still so many racists that are determined to stop progress.

The generations behind us baby boomers are so much more tolerant and open than any of the generations before them. That is America's future.
