The thin veneer is off the GOP now. The last two years have featured the ugliest parts of America front and center, steering their party and far, far too many Americans said tonight that they were OK with that.

Mitch McConnell brazenly said they are going to dismantle Social Security and Medicare, condemning millions of Americans of their own money, of security and shelter and food and health care and life itself. And much of the citizenry just shrugged their shoulders or, even worse, enthusiastically backed them.

I get gerrymandering.
I get voter suppression.
I get the challenges of voting in today's day and age for many groups.

At the same time...the single largest voting block in the country is "stayed home/didn't bother". Until that changes, this government belongs to the people who show up and, once again, that commercial is true. The one with the old white folks saying, in effect..."f'ck you cuz I vote and you don't".

If people don't care enough to make a little time to vote, then what can you do? Apparently, things aren't bad enough for them to care. A real shame.

11. People obviously don't feel a need to vote unless they have desire to win.

Education is lacking, and the emphasis on voting is poor. Some people just don't give a damn. But, when people complain about how things are, my question to them is going to be, did you vote?

When people complain about being shortchanged by government or they get out righted screwed and complain. Ask them whether they voted. If they say no, tell them that they approved of what is happening to them and they need to stop complaining.
