Listening to CNN: WTF? When Democrats fight for their beliefs they are "pilling on?" (re Kavanaugh

Yes, it riled up Trump's base, but why is it called "piling on" when Democrats were fighting to support a woman who was a victim of sexual assault? Whether they admit it or not, Dr. Ford was not lying and she wasn't mistaken. In a court of law she probably ould have won because witnesses would have been allowed to testify and other parties would have been called under subpoena.
