https://www.thedailybeast.com/sarah-huckabee-sanders-warns-democrats-dont-waste-time-investigating-trump?ref=homeWe have a president thats willing to work across the aisle to get things done, Sanders insisted.
We feel good about where we are in the Senate, but if Democrats take the House they shouldnt waste time investigating. They should focus on what the people have put them there to do.
She urged Democrats not to be the party of resist and obstruct but rather work with Trump to solve some of the big problems that weve been leading on over the last two years.
A few fun-facts:
1. You can do investigation and legislation at the same time.
2. Trump has actively sabotaged the democratic efforts to solve the DACA-crisis.
3. The people gave the House to Democrats because minorities don't like Trump.
4. It is a well-known fact in politics that the junior-partner in a coalition-government becomes less popular over time, because the bigger partner gets all the credit and the junior-partner cannot complain without endangering the coalition. The bigger partner gets to build profile and success, while the smaller partner is damned if they play along, damned if they don't.
Democrats becoming friendly and bipartisan is the biggest-possible mistake they could make. Even if they work with Trump, they need to keep him at arm's length.

We're actually quite good at that.
Won't be long before we hear all the usual rhetoric about the "healing process" and "working together."

(6,496 posts)They had no interest in that with a Republican dominated house. I don't think most Republicans these days know the meaning of bipartisanship. They seem to think it means that the Democrats should cave in and give the Republicans their way all the time. They just whine and try to get their way without making any concessions to the Dems. When the Dems don't give in, they'll complain the Dems aren't being bipartisan.
