Being a Democrat in Florida this morning feels like...

...a kid whose parents grounded him and who has to watch all the other kids in the neighborhood play outside his bedroom window.

I’ll feel better when the Roger Stone indictments start rolling in.

My two greatest desires yesterday, that Gillum would win and Scott would slither away, both dashed. My contempt for rethugs around here has grown though. I worked a precinct in Brevard County yesterday and was tasked with emptying the ballot machine. My heart fell when I saw all the rethug votes, even knowing this is a rethug county.

100% of statewide races go red. Not just red but Trumpian red. Racist, misogynist, homophobic full on red. The DeWine/Husted crowd will f'ck up everything in this state that isn't white male.

Rural Ohio counties go upwards of 65-70% red.

We can claim that a few House seats stayed red thanks to gerrymandering. Maybe, post the anti-gerrymandering maps go into play for 2022 we can eek out another seat or two. But let's be clear - guys like Jim Jordan are the product of rural ohio voters and their intentions, not gerrymandering.

Urban participation appears to be higher than most years past. We'll have to wait to see all the numbers sliced and diced but I think it's going to be hard to say Dems didn't show up.

Time to own up to the fact that Ohio is not a swing state...it's a reliable red core state that has (and will) deliver for republicans.

Need more liquor to wash all this down and recharge for 2020. I want to be wrong about this and my fear is I'm not.

After all their work, they still ended up with a pro-NRA governor.

I hope they don't give up. In politics, most people and most causes fail several times before succeeding.

Despite their efforts, the youth vote across the nation did not come out strong. As an oldster, this baffles me. I've lived most of my life, so when I vote, I'm voting mostly on issues that affect the next generations. They are going to have to step it up if they want a brighter future. I hope they don't have to learn the hard way which party is in their best interests.

so I got a double dose of that feeling.

Still, though, I can’t wait to see what Gillum and Abrams do next.

To put up with for the next 4 years with DeRacist

People have lost their fucking minds

Ayn Rand would be orgasmic with the attitudes here

And DeRacist is NOT a leader. He’s going to be a deer in headlights his entire term
