We have to consider the good things that happened last night.

We recaptured the House for the first time in eight years.

We captured several governor's offices that the GOP had held.

We got the pleasure of seeing several despicable people (Scott Walker, Dana Rohrabacher, Kris Kobach, Corey Stewart) go down in defeat.

We did poorly in the Senate, but we still captured at least one seat (Nevada).

I'd say that constitutes a good night for us. Not a great one by any means, but definitely a good one. The fact of the matter is that this is the best the Democratic Party has had to show for itself in a national election since 2012. I've had virtually zero hope for this country since that orange thing somehow got elected, but last night filled me with at least a little amount of optimism.

(I'm a teetotaler, but whatever)

Gained 4 reps for a 9 to 9 split. Used to be 13 to 5. Easily reelected both Democratic Governor and Senator. Won back 5 seats in the state senate where Republicans had a super majority. And we turned out to vote!!

Clinton counties swung 11% more democratic while Trump countries swung 16% democratic. I never thought I'd see that.
