I live in Ohio and used to live in Florida

While I am not happy with the Nelson, Gillum, Cordray results in the two states, I'm fucking THRILLED today. I see a lot of anguish on DU today and while I can somewhat understand (based on my two home states) it is time to quickly celebrate and go back to work. We KILLED it in the HOUSE! We put a check on the Orange Emperor. We have many more females and younger adults going into Congress. We have states reversing gerrymandering and redistricting. We have states approving marijuana. We have a number of Dem Governors heading to their state Capitals. We did pretty damn good. Oh, and we have some new, younger rock stars in the Democratic party like Andrew Gillum, Beto O'rourke, and Stacy Abrams.

Let's celebrate, let's get back to work!!!

I think people are very frustrated about individual races and states - particularly Florida and Ohio - but when we pull back focus and look at the big picture, last night was awesome.

Let's not forget that we went into the day hoping to win the House and lots of statehouses. We weren't expecting to take back the Senate - that would have been a cherry on top, but wasn't the sundae.

And we did what we were supposed to do.

YAY, us!

The shitbags racists in The Villages can't live forever.
Millenials and the restoration voters will push us over the top.
Mourn now, and then get angry!

Ohio also voted to end the gerrymander in 16 ....so it is not all bad. Sherrod won...worked hard for Cordray...but the crypt keeper was more well known.

Well Kornacki and Chuck Toad just agreed Ohio won't be a battleground in 2020. I live here and I'd agree with that... EXCEPT if Sherrod is on the ticket. Then all bets are off.

I was thinking about Ohio and Florida this morning. I think the DNC needs to pick fairly soon which state they really want to pursue aggressively in 2020 and set up shop pretty soon to start the ground game. I'm in southern Ohio and the results from yesterday were just bad... and I worked for a long time on the OH-1 race.

Local Dems in northern Ohio and Franklin county have it together but the bottom of the state is a disaster. That needs fixed pretty quickly. The Ohio GOP set up a pretty amazing apparatus it pains me to say.
