McConnell is very restrained at his press conference.

He seems to understand what just happened.

He also admitted that the republicans intentionally harassed President Clinton. He then said Democrats should think about doing the same thing because there will be a backlash with voters.

on edit: Hey Mr. McConnell: Accountability is not harassment.

Republicans are out of voters. When we motivate our base and stop worrying about converting repubs, we win. I saw a graphic that my home state of PA moved 11% more democratic in Clinton counties and 16% more democratic in Trump counties. I'm on my phone but it was in the Washington Post.

Trump and his family are.

I have no doubt the House will fully and fairly investigate Trump/Trump administration wrong-doing and exercise their constitutional oversight duties with neither fear nor favor.

I think they could even find some evidence that Senate leader McConnell was involved in obstructing public notification of Russian interference in the 2016 election and taking illegal campaign contributions from foreign countries/entities.

If he was serious about any impeachment efforts hurting the Dems then why isn’t he hoping the Democrats go ahead and go after Trump?

He’s supposed to be sincere and helpful in his warning to the Democrats? Sure! OK! What a good guy!

Don't take the bait - don't respond to McConnell. He's dying for Dems to spout off. No reason to hide what they are doing but don't broadcast every little move.

Don't take the bait of the media who wants to talk about it

Don't take the bait of those darned enticing social media accounts that invite reflexive comments.

Use you brains. Keep the focus on the voters who want sound legislation.

...his ability to STFU and give up his dream of gutting SS, Medicare, and Medicaid.

In other words, if he stops generating an atmosphere of "this crap has to STOP," there will probably be less of an effort to stop him. That also includes giving up the dream of more tax cuts for billionaires.

I've seen a number of articles on the risks versus rewards of impeaching a president. First, it's not going to happen with a Republican-led Senate. Second, we already know that Trump is planning to blame the House for everything in the next two years. His sarcastic and taunting tweet this morning RE: Nancy Pelosi tells us all we need to know about that.

We've spent two years with faithful lapdog Devin Nunes (and others) blocking every attempt to enforce checks and balances on Trump. For McConnell to suggest that we'll now just sit back and let Trump do his thing is ludicrous.

I don't have the answers. All I know is Trump is going to spend the next two years slamming the House, and whatever he can't find in reality, he will manufacture. He'll spend the next two years telling us about the things Nancy Pelosi "wants to do," and he'll only talk about the things...real and imagined...guaranteed to stoke the highest levels of fear and anger in his "base."

Now stuff it. May you burn in your hell for your sins against your fellow citzens.

He’s must be such a sweet talker in private. I would really like to hear what he said to to President Obama in October 2016 about the Russian attack that started the war. I think it was something like “I will lie and tell everyone that Obama made this up.” That’s the recording I’d like.

That staged restaurant act was really intense Mitch. $200 gets you 15mins of some real quailty acting. I was terrified the guy was going to throw a napkin at ya. If it was real Connie would have bulldogged him.

Senate is in scope and is locked in for 2020. Your time is going to come-MITCH!
