There is less than 100,000 votes difference. All the absentee and provisional votes aren't counted. And there was fraud going on...I think there's a lawsuit still on file about it. She's hoping for a runoff, which I fully support at this time.
I'm sure she's discouraged and dirt tired. I commend her for her grit and energy in going the distance. She's amazing.
Sad that Gillum conceded, since there is also less than 100,000 votes difference, and that's a huge state. Maybe that will change...do they still count all the votes, even though one has conceded?

(30,674 posts)did we tolerate this? Same sort of thing happened in 2000 in Florida, when SOS was Bush campaign chairman. There should be lawsuits! Oh, yeah, SCOTUS. We are so fucked.

(37,648 posts)but I don't know if that has changed.
Heard pundit on tv say that recounts almost never change the initial result. Still, so much is at stake, and FL is so important, that I think the Democratic Party should support a full-out effort to turn over every rock to make sure that Abrams and Nelson weren't elected, even by a few votes.

(56,828 posts)correct me if I'm wrong.
The runoff in GA would be another full election on December 4th between just Abrams and Kemp, and no 3rd party candidates. That will be all about turnout.

(37,648 posts)Wash Post is reporting that Nelson has stated "We are proceeding to a recount..."
Yay! Don't give up the ship, if there's a glimmer of a chance.

(63,221 posts)I think there is a very good chance that more than 100,000 voters have been purged from the rolls in that state (probably mostly minorities) if not more. You will never convince me that they didn't cheat.

"...a senior analyst for our cybersecurity company, suggests that while these measures may have rendered some of the Russian tactics of 2016 less effective, they havent fully stopped Russian influence operations. In many instances, they seem to have merely caused Russia to shift or develop new tactics..."

(33,259 posts)Kemp screwed with voters and votes. Keep recounting until a (non-partisan) judge weighs in.
