Whitaker would serve the president, not justice
Make no mistake a Whitaker Justice Department would be a Trump Political Protection Plan. His record as a Republican operative and even in his time at the Justice Department make it clear, Whitaker would be the presidents willing choice to oversee and sabotage the special counsels investigation to the presidents liking.
Dont take my word for it just listen to Matt Whitaker himself. Hes been against the Mueller investigation from day one, and even offered up ways the investigation might be kneecapped from within. In an op-ed, Whitaker argued that calls to appoint a special counsel to investigate Russias attacks were craven attempts to score cheap political points. In an interview on CNN last year, Whitaker said, I could see a scenario where Jeff Sessions is replaced with a recess appointment and that attorney general doesn't fire Bob Mueller but he just reduces his budget so low that his investigations grinds to almost a halt.
Unlike Rosenstein, a Republican but a career law enforcement official with top-shelf professional credentials, Whitakers path has always been political and partisan. He had a short tenure as a Bush-appointed U.S. attorney during which he was accused of having pursued a charge of extortion against an Iowa state senator for political purposes; In 2007, Des Moines Democrat Matt McCoy was found not guilty in just under two hours of forcing a business partner to pay him $2,000. More than 90 percent of federal court cases result in a conviction; Whitakers swift and stunning failure in his most high-profile prosecution underscored that the charge was unsubstantiated and driven by partisanship.

(23,091 posts)Whitaker will fire Mueller almost immediately, maybe even today, will seize all the materials and have them destroyed and write a fake report saying there is no evidence of any crimes by drumpf or administration. I just hope Mueller has saved all those to a drive that Whittaker can't access and that one of his staff leaks this to the media. Unlikely, but this is a constitutional crisis and if this isn't done, our country certainly is finished as a constitutional democracy of laws.

(32,079 posts)Including the office of the New York Attorney General. I understand that Barbara Underwood's successor is an even tougher hard-ass than Underwood. Probably sent stuff to the AGs in New Jersey, Illinois, and other places where Porcini Penis has properties. No telling how much of it will get leaked before they can get a hold of it, too.

(23,091 posts)Would you be one bit shocked if they are already in there shredding everything? I certainly wouldn't.

(32,079 posts)He already passed on tons of stuff to Barbara Underwood in the NY AG's office. Not to mention that he most likely has been given tons of evidence from foreign sources, who also have copies, and will happily provide them to Adam Schiff. All the evidence won't be destroyed.
