I wish the pundits would all stop saying Trump is feeling emboldened

He's not emboldened. That implies confidence and strength. He's in a frenzy trying to save himself and his spawn from prison. It's not emboldened - it's freak out panic and knee jerk reaction. Burn it all down if he has to.

Subvert legal institutions so he can't be touched. The House will investigate, but he's already convinced the base it's all a witch hunt, so the Senate will do nothing. In 2020 he will use the same anti-immigrant themes to try to win again.
